Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am an 18 year old female, and I have been getting severe itching at nights mostly. I have got my allergy report, but I am unable to understand it. If I eat chicken or anything that sort, my skin starts getting bumps and itchy at night. And if I scratch a little, these bumps break and spread throughout my body. When they heal, they leave a scar. I am attaching a picture of the rashes and the allergy report.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your concern and examined your picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity). It seems you have developed acute urticaria. The cause of acute urticaria are many, but the most common are food, drugs, infection, or worm infestation.Your allergy panel test shows an allergy to certain foods, so try to avoid them. I suggest taking tablet Levocetirizine, once daily for three months after consulting your GP or a nearby dermatologist.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you doctor.

What foods am I allergic to? I am not able to understand.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

In your given report (attachment removed to protect patient identity), you have a mild allergy to milk products, egg, chicken, and certain grass like Parthenium. Though your report reflects all are within normal limit, but your body starts developing antibodies against these substances, so may be at the time of giving the sample for allergy panel, your blood did not develop traceable antibody. But now your body will have significant antibodies against these substances. So, try to avoid these products as much as you can and take treatment as I advised after consulting your GP. You may also have an allergy to other products, which may not be included in allergy panel, so try to find out others also, and avoid these products for getting completed cure.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
