What causes body aches and sore throat if HIV-negative?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected sex with a call girl ten months ago. Then, after three months, I got my HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) test done, and the test was negative. Then again, I got the HIV test after six months, and the test was negative. Then, after eight months, I got my HIV test done again, and the test result was negative. I did an ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) test, a tri-dot test, an ELFA (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay) test, and finally, a western blot test. All test results were negative.

I am getting some symptoms like body pain, body tiredness, bitter mouth, sore throat, and tightness in the neck. So, I am fully scared. My question is whether these symptoms are related to HIV, or do I have to take another HIV test? Recently, I did a WBC (White Blood Cells) count test, and it is 12000.

I have a Vitamin D test result of 16.6 ng/ml. Is Vitamin D deficiency related to my symptoms? I got Vitamin B12 test results of 188 pg/ml. Is this related to the beginning of HIV infection? I am totally confused.

Please answer my questions.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Whatever symptoms are present, they are due to a vitamin deficiency. All tests are negative, so it is clear that there is no HIV infection. So do not worry. You can consult a general physician. He will give you a written prescription. Even I can, but a long treatment is required. You will be all right after taking treatment.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor, for the reply.

But I have read online that most people with HIV have a B12 vitamin deficiency. This is my thinking, and I am also a non-vegetarian, eating chicken items, eggs, and fish. But how is it showing B12 deficiency? So I am scared of this. All tests were done before I drank plenty of alcohol.

Can this affect my test results? And what should I do next? Give me suggestions.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you take injection Renerv (Thiamine hydrochloride) one ampule IM after sensitivity test every alternate day for five injections, followed by weekly, followed by one month for six months. Then, maintenance is done by oral tablet Cobadex Forte, which contains folic acid, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B12, and many more, one at night, for the long term.

You also have a Vitamin D3 deficiency. Take sachet Cholecalciferol 60,000 IU once per week for eight weeks, followed by one sachet per month for six months, and tablet Bio D3 (Calcitriol) one at night for a long-term basis intermittently. As you take non-vegetables, you can drink plenty of milk and milk products, too. Butter, milk, and fresh curd are very beneficial.

Kind regards.

Finally, I do not have HIV, right? Can I take more tests in the future?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, you do not need any test now if you are fair enough with your life. At present, everything is fine.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor, for the reply.

For the past six months, I have been totally overthinking about HIV. Now it is clear.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Try to control, at least go for protected sex. As for the last six months, you are in marvelous mental stress; one fault is equal to six months of panic. No one should get such a punishment. So I think you will not make such a mistake.

Be healthy, be happy. So now do not worry. All should be good now.

All tests are negative. Is there any chance for it to turn positive? Because I am reading online that HIV symptoms come up to 10 years.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I do not believe in prediction. It may be written. Ten years is a long time to predict the outcome. Stop thinking so much about this; otherwise, you will develop OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder).

Kind regards.
