Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 12-year-old child has continuous vomiting. He is continuously vomiting after every 10 minutes. Due to continuous vomiting, he cannot drink water or even take medicines.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It seems that he is having acute gastritis or can be a case of food poisoning. So he needs to be given broad-spectrum antibiotics for suspicion of food poisoning if present. I suggest the following.

(Consult your specilaist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.)

1. Rabeprazole 20 mg once daily for five days.

2. For vomiting, take Ondensteron orally disintegrating tablets.

3. To prevent dehydration, electrolytes can be given frequently with dissolving in water

If he vomits everything he eats for more than one day, he should be admitted to the hospital and given intravenous fluid and antiemetic drugs. Maintain hydration with lots of water. Avoid excess spicy foods and also consult a pediatrician for an examination.

Thank you.
