Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a spot on my cheek and I am diagnosed with adult acne and mild eczema. Is it anything to be concerned about?

Answered by Dr. Payal Chauhan

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. You have both eczema and acne it seems. But medicines for both are different. Use the following medicines for eczema. Kindly consult your doctor to discuss the suggestions and take the treatment with consent.

1. Mometasone 0.1 % cream local application twice a day.

2. Cetaphil moisturizer for body twice a day.

3. Tablet Desloratadine 5 mg twice a day.

For acne use the following medicines.

1. Fixed combination of Adapalene 0.1 % and Benzoyl peroxide 2.5 % gel for local application at night.

The gel needs to be applied very gently as spots on acne and a thin layer over the acne-prone site, and it is not to be rubbed. It can cause mild irritation upon initial use, which can subside with continued usage. It is nothing to worry about. Use the medicines given above. It should decrease in two to three weeks after which you can follow up again. It does not look like anything that should raise your concern. The spot appears to be an excoriated lesion of acne. Is there anything specific you wish to ask that is bothering you? I would be glad to clarify your doubt.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
