Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have suffered from depression for the last two years. My doctor changed my recent medicines to a new drug, Zoloft. I have been taking it for a month. I am afraid of traveling and getting on an airplane. I got tired and had a lot of depression and severe panic attacks. I am afraid I cannot settle down if I reach the place. My heart will stop beating from fear, anxiety, and panic. And I do not know from what. I need anything to relax from these symptoms, my flight is after two days, and I do not know what will happen. One year ago when the severity of the depression was stronger than I got tired, could not handle it, and did not breathe. The emergency staff came and gave me oxygen. I do not know what is happening. I had lived at that moment.

Please help me.

What behavioral way will make me relax?

I am trying to calm down and relax. But nothing is in my hand.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are having mixed anxiety and depressive disorder.

You have anxiety in the form of panic attacks.

Do not take Zoloft. It is good for depression but not very effective for panic attacks.

Take tablet Pari CR 25 milligrams (Paroxetine 25 milligrams) half tablet at night for two days, one tablet at night for two days, then Pari CR 37.5 milligrams one tablet continue.

Take tablet Lonazep MD (Clonazepam) 0.5 milligrams, one tablet at night daily, and can take one tablet whenever you feel panic attacks. It will control your depression as well as your panic attacks. For therapy, you can visit a local psychologist. For panic attacks, you can do regular relaxation exercises and meditation by yourself. It will improve your condition.

Thank you.
