Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have red dots on the head of my penis and my skin becomes dry when I get hard. I do not know how long I have had the bumps, but it got itchy about five days back. The itchiness resolved after I showered with an antibacterial soap. The red bumps have not become small. I experienced peeling the first few days but now I peel only if I rub. I suspect if it is balanitis but would like to ensure if it is nothing serious. My discharge or ejaculation seems to be relatively normal. I may be dehydrated but there is no foul smell. The red dots were more in number but now it is hardly visible and no longer itchy. I have shared the pictures. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am here to extend a helping hand to you.

I would like to know the following:

  1. Could you please elaborate more?
  2. Do you have any history of high-risk unprotected sexual activity?
  3. Do you have any other symptoms like pain or fever?

As I can see in the picture from the attached reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), it does not seem to be anything serious. It appears to be Candidal balanoposthitis. This is a treatable condition. You should visit a doctor in person for treatment.

I hope I was able to help you.

I wish you a better health.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have been in a monogamous relationship since the past year but before that, I have had a few unprotected sexual encounters with multiple partners. Unfortunately, I have never tested, but I will be getting it done soon to get peace of mind. I will start to use Clotrimazole cream until I am properly tested.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Once more, thank you for allowing us to be of service to you.

As I mentioned, it does not appear to be any serious issue or any STD (sexually transmitted disease). It is most likely to be balanoposthitis. Get yourself evaluated by a good doctor and you will be alright. Keep the part dry and do not use hard soaps over the tip of the penis.

Thank you for choosing me and icliniq to care for you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
