Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My son is 7 years old. He was being naughty and received a scolding from his teacher for his mischievous activities. Since then, he is not behaving normally. He seems depressed, avoids talking to his friends, and does not even interact with his family members. I believe my son is depressed. Can you suggest any ways to help him feel better?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Let the child take a temporary break from school for a week or so. Additionally, it would be beneficial to talk to the school authorities to understand the situation better and determine what exactly happened. You should also communicate with your child to hear both sides of the story and get a complete picture of what occurred at school. From the medical point of view, I would not suggest anything for now. Try behavior modification as mentioned above, if those are not successful, medical management can be considered.

You can reconnect for further queries.

Thank you.
