Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 22-year-old, and I just want someone to talk to right now because I feel so depressed, and my depression is killing me from the inside out. I just found out that my long-term relationship is still cheating on me. And I just cannot help but be mad about it, but still, I want to forgive him again. What can I do now? I am always crying now, and the tears will not stop. I lose my mojo to do anything and also my appetite. I feel like I am falling apart. Please help me. What is happening to me?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

The differential diagnosis of your condition is ASR (acute stress reaction) or MDD (major depressive disorder). It is kind of a stress reaction. Do a screening test for depression like Zung's self-rating depression scale, which you can easily find online if it is there for more than two weeks. I suggest you certain things that will help:

  • Share your feelings with family or close friends, as sharing helps a lot. If there is no one to share, you can log down your thoughts uncensored, not to be read again.
  • Meditation daily for at least half an hour in the morning relaxes your mind and thus helps.
  • Try maintaining a routine with flexibility and try to focus on major life goals.
  • You can join an online self-help group.
  • If all these do not help, contact a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist, either on this platform or nearby.
  • Remember every problem has a solution and help is just a step away.

Hope this helps address your concern.

Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

    Warm regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
