Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wife has small pimples in between her fingers on both hands and they are itchy. It subsides when she uses ice water. Even wearing gloves gives relief. When using detergents or soap it increases. Two months the back same thing happened and it got cured. This is the second time and it is there for the past seven days. Please suggest remedy.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I would like to know a few things before coming to a diagnosis. Is anyone in the family has such itching? Is itching worse at night? Does any other part of the body has red spots? Which soap and detergent you use? What all housework you do? The attached photos are blurred. (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Please send a photo of better quality.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

No one else in the family are having this problem. During night also moderate itching is there and no other parts of the body have red spots or itching. We use Vim detergent in the kitchen and Yardley for bathing. Now the itching is less but due scratching skin got torn with pain.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It seems you are having dyshidrotic eczema. It is very common due to more contact with water, especially with soap water used for washing clothes and household works. You have to take care while using detergent and doing household activity. Wear gloves and then do your work, especially long gloves are preferable. This will reduce your recurrence a lot.

Treatment plan

Tablet Teczine (Levocetirizine) 5 mg twice a day for 15 days. Capsule Antoxid HC once a day for 30 days. Then mix of Momate F cream and Candid cream to be applied in the morning and night. Use Cetaphil Dam moisturizing lotion in the afternoon and evening. Use Cetaphil bar to wash hands. Take tablet Moxclav (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) 625 mg in the morning and night for three days. This is a recurrent thing. We have to avoid contact with strong detergent by using gloves. Review after 15 days, then will continue moisturizing cream depending on how it is.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
