Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I just turned 20 and find it difficult to get and keep a strong erection for sex. I am certain this problem is mental as I feel like I suffer from anxiety and performance anxiety whether it be sex or sports. I am good looking and good with people and girls but do not know how to fix this problem. Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is most likely that you are suffering from performance anxiety. You need to be confident about yourself. Forget about your last performance failure, or it will start a vicious cycle of performance anxiety and erection failure. Be bold. Spend enough time on foreplay and after play. Take help from your sex partner. Tell her about your anxiety so she does not demotivate and insult you for your failure. When you are going to have sex, actually play at that time and forget everything. Just concentrate on you and your partner. Do not think about the duration of your play but concentrate on the quality of the act. Ask your partner about satisfaction. Her satisfaction is important and not how long you do. Ask her about her likes and dislikes related to sex position, places to touch, places to kiss, etc. It will take some time but you have to be confident in yourself. Spend time on exercise daily for 30 to 40 minutes. Spend time for meditation for 15 minutes, take good sleep for seven hours daily, avoid junk food and eat healthy food, home cooked. Spend quality time with your friends and family. Avoid any type of substance abuse like alcohol, tobacco or any recreational drugs, spend time for your hobbies but active hobbies like reading books, writing, painting, learn to play musical instruments, play outdoor sports, etc. You have a high BMI seems to be obese, you need to lose weight. Obesity is one of the common factors for erectile dysfunction.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
