Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I do cycling, stretching exercises, and work out daily. I eat many protein foods and other needed vitamins for the body. I had my growth spurt at the age of 14. I am apprehensive about my future height because I saw a lot of sites saying that a teenager would not grow after 16 years. I wanted an accurate understanding of height growth.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Yes, you stop growing your height after a spurt, but that also depends on your bone age. If there is no epiphyseal fusion, then your size might increase. Many hormonal factors also contribute to your height growth, like growth hormones, insulin-like, and growth factors. It also depends on your testosterone levels. And it also depends on other multiple factors like family member's height.
So if you are very concerned about your height, you should get these levels done.
Thank you.
