Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 35-year-old male. I have an elevated testosterone and cortisol levels. My testosterone reading is 1440.9 ng/dL, three months ago it was 1080 ng/dL. Should I be concerned?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query, and from what you have mentioned, it appears that your testosterone levels are normal and that the high cortisol could be because of stress and does not appear to be pathological. You can recheck the cortisol early in the morning. Avoid alcohol and do exercises like deep breathing and meditation to reduce stress. Once the stress reduces, the cortisol levels will correct.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply. Did you look into the attached laboratory test? From what I know, the upper range of normal testosterone is 893 ng/dL, while I have 1440 ng/dL. So how can almost twice the value be normal?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, I did, but I could not understand the language. Testosterone is generally higher in males.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
