Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have swelling in my knees, which is painful, and I cannot move my leg. What could be the reason?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Take tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg twice daily for ten days after food.
  2. Take tablet Rabeprazole 20 mg once daily for ten days before food. Take these tablets only if you are not allergic to them. Do not take these tablets if you are a known case of bronchial asthma.
  3. Activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily.
  4. If the knee is swollen or sore, activities like squatting, kneeling, twisting, pivoting, aerobics, and jogging should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve.
  5. Wear a knee cap for support to the knee joint. Wear it all day, and you can remove it at night.
  6. Apply ice packs twice daily for 15 minutes.
  7. Get your X-ray of both knee joints - AP and lateral views.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take medications with their consent. I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
