Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have got four round shaped bumps beneath my penis area. I do not know what it is. Please guide me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please upload the close-up pictures for making a diagnosis.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am attaching the picture now.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Though the images are not very clear (attachment removed to protect patient identity) but the lesions appears to be a localized infection. This could be a hair follicular infection. Do you have any recent history of unprotected sex with high risk partner? Since how many days these lesions are present? Are these lesions tender to touch or are painless?

Keep the part dry and avoid scratching the affected areas. Wear clean loose undergarments dried in sunlight. These lesions will heal in some time on their own. You can take Ibuprofen for some days to reduce the pain and inflammation. The chances that these are warts are very low. So remain relaxed.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have no pain or itchiness. They are one month old. I had no unprotected sex with anyone. Just oral sex.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for providing the information.

The lesions are painless, present since last one month and there is no itching. There is a history of sexual intercourse though not vaginal. All this history and pictures are pointing towards molluscum contagiosum. This is not a very serious issue and can be treated. This is a viral infection. This can even spread with protected sexual intercourse. You should remain abstinent from sex until the treatment is completed. If you are married or in a sexual relationship with someone then your partner should also be screened.

The treatment should be done by a Dermatologist. Lesions can be removed and this will prevent recurrence. Laser, RF (radiofrequency) cauterization enucleation, cryotherapy, etc., are methods of treatment. The removal can be done on OPD basis too. But you have to visit a Dermatologist for that. There is a risk of transmission from you too, so better to take proper treatment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
