This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 22 years old male. I am suffering from excessive masturbation problem for the past three years. I have the habit of masturbation for the past six years. I am worried. I think I need to undergo counseling sessions to control it.

Now, I masturbate at least once daily. Without doing it, I am unable to sleep. I tried getting myself involved in other activities. But it does not help. Sometimes I masturbate three times a day.

I am unable to concentrate properly on the other parts of my life. I understand that my habit has turned into an addiction. I want to get cured. I feel shy to visit doctor physically. Kindly help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Sex thoughts, sex addiction, masturbation addiction, and porn films addiction come under behavior addiction. Behavioral addiction is a form of addiction that involves a compulsion to engage in a rewarding non-drug-related behavior. Sometimes it is called as a natural reward as it does not cause any adverse consequences to the persons physical, mental, social or financial well-being.

Behavior addiction needs to be cured or controlled using your self-willpower. Diverting your mind and body away from the circumstances with the help of physical exercises, games, and entertainment can help you.

Never sleep alone. Be always with your family even at night are some other tips. Willpower is the key forever. Behavioral therapy also works well.
