Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have this skin reaction for around a month now. They are itchy, red and tiny bumps. My doctor gave my Zatamil ointment to use but after that ointment I feel it as spreading. Is there any other ointment that can help to get rid of it quickly?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I feel sorry for this situation. The most important aspect that I am interested in is how did you get this rash (attachment removed to protect patient identity)? Is it due to food allergy or medication induced or chemical allergy or plant or insect contact, etc? To address the rash, I recommend using ointment Procort topical, which contains Hydrocortisone and Pramoxine, providing fast relief. Additionally, it's essential to wash the affected area frequently and avoid using scented soaps or shampoos. Opt for a soothing bath with oatmeal milk and honey body wash to cleanse the rash area. For further relief, consider taking tablet Cetirizine 5 mg twice a day for five days and tablet Ibuprofen twice a day for three days to reduce inflammation. Applying ice sponging can also be beneficial. However, it's crucial to consult a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and receive personalized treatment based on the specific nature of the rash.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am working in a hospital. Initially, I had a small circle. But, when my doctor gave me the ointment called Zatamil it got worse with more itch and spread. I did send you an image of the rash and it seems like chemical allergy in hand wash or something. I never had it before. I asked my doctor about the reason for this reaction and she said it is due to winter. I have always used hand wash before. I do not have a food allergy. I hope you had a look of the images I sent. What is the best ointment I can use apart from your prescription above?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. Thank you for sharing the pictures, and I understand your concern. After reviewing the images, it appears that there is no need to worry as the rash should resolve on its own with time. In a couple of days, you should experience relief from the symptoms, and within a week or two, it will hopefully be completely resolved. I still recommend using the ointment I mentioned earlier, as it has proven to be effective. Apply it twice daily until you find relief or for a week. The rash could be a result of touching plants in the backyard or potentially related to an allergy to Pyodine surgical scrub (Povidone-Iodine) used in hospitals. Consider ruling out Latex allergy from gloves as well and avoiding any triggers accordingly. If the symptoms persist or worsen, it's always best to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and personalized advice.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
