Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been through many traumatic events. I believe that my brain is not the same as before. I had an episode of migraine once. My vision goes bright and wonky during stressful situations. It feels like I am in a television show and watching my life, not through my eyes. My vision is messed up, and everything is moving. When I directly look at something, that object gets “cut out” and bounces towards and away from me. It is the weirdest thing. I told about this problem to many people, but they refused to believe it. It affects me, and I cannot drive due to this problem. A stressful situation or looking at a computer screen for too long triggers it. When my vision becomes wonky, I have to wait as I cannot bring it back to normal. It feels weird, and I am trying to fight with myself to get back to normal. If it happens right now, I will be unable to type on my phone because my fingers cannot coordinate with the phone. This problem started six years ago when I left my mother and lived with my father. I cannot find a medical term to describe what is happening to me. What am I experiencing, and why? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I would like to know more about your eye symptoms. Therefore, please provide more information regarding the following:

  1. Do things look blurred at that time?
  2. Do you see things rotating around you?
  3. Do you see blackening in front of your eyes?
  4. How long do such symptoms occur in one episode?
  5. Do you have any other symptoms during that time like palpitations, feeling of impending doom, breathlessness, chest pressure, fearfulness, or something else?
  6. How frequently do such symptoms occur?
  7. Are you normal in between the episodes or have symptoms? If yes, please explain in detail.
  8. Is your mood happy, sad, or worried?
  9. How is your sleep cycle? Do you sleep immediately after going to bed?
  10. Have you ever consulted the doctor for these symptoms or undergone any investigations? If yes, please tell me about the investigations and the test reports.

Regarding follow up

Please revert with the above-mentioned information for better understanding and further judgment.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

The things do not appear blurry but are shaky. I do not see things rotating around me or blackening in front of my eyes. The symptoms occur for three to ten minutes. I experience shortness of breath due to anxiety. The frequency of symptoms depends on my emotional state and the environment. If I am in a stressful and scary environment, it happens quite often or almost every day. When the episodes are over, I feel normal, but I am scared it will happen again, so I do not think about it. When this happens, I am either fine or scared. I just escaped an abusive relationship, so I am scared. It takes me about 25 to 30 minutes to fall asleep. I told about these symptoms to a few people, but they ignored me. I have never undergone any investigations or consulted a doctor. I have been experiencing it for the past five years.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is a possibility that you have anxiety with panic attacks. I would suggest you meet a psychiatrist. I suggest you do the following investigations, triiodothyronine (T3 ), thyroxine (T4), thyroid-stimulating hormones (TSH), vitamin B12, and electrocardiogram (ECG) tests.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
