How to treat a long-standing pimple on my nose?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a zit or pimple on my nose. I had it for a few years. I was never worried about it.

It does not look too extreme or anything. But someone mentioned skin cancer, sometimes starting as small red bumps that do not go away. I am not sure if it is possible to have a pimple for years.

Or is it something to be concerned about?

Kindly help.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have attached the photos.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Do not worry, it is not cancerous. You just observe it for any change in color, size, or shape. If it changes, then you should go for a biopsy; otherwise, just observe it. It seems like a benign nevus or sebaceous cyst (benign means noncancerous).

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.
