Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have stomach pain below the ribs in the center part. The pain comes and goes for maybe a minute each time. And I feel full even though I do not eat that many. I have soft stool for the past days, but today my stool is normal. What is my possible condition and what do I need to do to prevent further pain in the stomach? I do not prefer to go to the hospital due to the COVID-19.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Can you please tell me what sort of pain are you experiencing? Is it sharp, or burning, or stabbing? Secondly, does the pain radiate to other parts of the body e.g. to the back? Lastly, do you have any other associated symptoms like fever, nausea, or vomiting?

As far as, amoebiasis is concerned, it is possible to have it with a negative stool test for the organism. But for you to have amoebiasis, there should be a history of blood in the stools. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that you may have amoebiasis.

From the details, you have provided it is possible that you may have gastroenteritis due to some other organism. Can you please tell me about your dietary habits as well as this will help me more in understanding the case.

In the end, from the details you have provided, I want to reassure you that you do not need to worry. The symptoms are very mild in nature. Hopefully, you will be fine with the appropriate management plan. Kindly, answer me the above questions to help me reach a final diagnosis.
