Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Yesterday I got my scanning done, and I want to know my baby's condition. Is everything fine? What about my condition? Something called "poor beam" is mentioned in my scan report. What does it mean? I have attached the reports for your reference.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen all the attachments (attachments removed to protect patient's identity). The baby's development is going on well at present and is 17 weeks. The position of the placenta also seems to be on the safe side. They have not mentioned any anomaly in the baby. The amount of fluid inside the uterus is also normal, so you need not worry and continue with the advice of your gynecologist. As far as the beam is concerned, there is excess fat over your abdomen, which slightly hampers the view at present. It would help if you have a high protein diet with Calcium and Iron supplements.

I hope this was helpful.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you, meanwhile, baby growth is good, right doctor? What is the meaning of fetal anatomy? Please explain.

Answered by Dr. Monica Mathur

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The report really shows that the position of the placenta is on the safe side. It is vital that placenta is on the safe side, and the amount of fluid is also within normal limits. The minute details of the baby can only be found only with the help of a 3D scan. I would suggest you have high-protein and a normal carbohydrate diet.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have one last doubt. Have the baby's hands and legs grown? I can see only the baby's head in the scan. I am sorry for troubling you, but as this is my first pregnancy, I am a bit more curious to know about my baby.

Answered by Dr. Monica Mathur

Hello

Welcome back to iCliniq.com.

The baby's shape inside the uterus cannot be examined as this is a dynamic real-time image of ultrasound. So do not worry about the shape of the baby. The baby is growing at its own pace taking its own time.

Have a good nutrition diet. Be safe at home.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
