Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand the stress you would have due to increased body weight and difficulty in losing it, after going through the attached details (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

Your BMI (Body Mass Index) is 48. BMI is nothing but a derived value from the weight and height of a person. For your height, your weight should be around 110 to 120 pounds.

Normal BMI is around 25. If it is between 25-30, it is overweight. If between 30-35, we call it obesity. Up to 35 BMI, we can reduce weight by exercise, by reducing carbohydrates and by restricted fat diet, etc.

If BMI between 35-40, called severe obesity, some tablets like Leptos can be taken along with exercise and diet. But if BMI is more than 40, it is called morbid obesity which cannot be reduced by drugs or exercise and diet. Bariatric surgery should be done to reduce weight which will prevent you from getting diseases like hypertension, diabetes, cardiac disease, kidney problems, and osteoporosis.

Your BMI is 48, which cannot be reduced by drugs, exercise or diet. So, please start considering bariatric surgery as an option. I have seen people who shed almost 100 pounds effortlessly after surgery within 3 months. This surgery is completely safe and gives great results and prevents you from getting various diseases which I have mentioned earlier.

Think about your heart. It is designed to work for a body which weighs 120 pounds. It is working double the time now, and its life will get reduced. So please consult a surgical gastroenterologist for clinical examination and surgery.

All my wishes for your good health.
