Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old married female trying to become a mother. I have left-sided pelvic pain, frequent urination, and vaginal discharge. My last menses was on the fourth of this month. Can you tell me if these symptoms are related to pregnancy?

Answered by Dr. Balakrishnan R

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If your periods are regular, then ovulation will occur on the day 12 to 16 of your cycle. So, if your period was on the fourth, ovulation can occur anywhere between the 15th to the 19th. After the ovulation occurs, the sperm will meet the egg in the tube, and only after four to five days will the embryo reach the uterus. So, as per that calculation embryo has not yet reached the uterus. These symptoms only suggest that there could be a urinary tract or vaginal infection. Have lots of water and pass urine frequently and also after having sex. Usually, pregnancy can be without any symptoms or with generalized weakness, nausea, vomiting, gastritis symptoms, headache, giddiness, lower abdominal pain, or an aching sensation. The best way to confirm pregnancy would be to take the urine pregnancy test at least one day after the expected date of the period.

Hope I have clarified your query. Do write back if you have more queries.
