Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old working professional, and both my mother and father have diabetes. They have been taking medicines for the last five years. I have been limiting sugar intake by not adding sugar to my coffee or tea, reducing sweets, etc. But is it possible that I can get diabetic because of genetic factors as both my parents are now diabetic?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The chances of getting diabetes when both parents have diabetes are threefold more compared to the general population, but we can prevent it by controlling our food habits and activities.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
