Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia before four years. I have severe body pain, sleep disorder, and tiredness after discontinuing medicine for fibromyalgia. For the past nine months, I am taking Dubinor. I am also taking Nortryptomer or Pregaba for a month on and off for two years. I have not done any laboratory tests recently.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. As you know the cause of fibromyalgia, only symptomatic treatment is given and I suggest you continue taking medicines for it. If Dubinor does not help you, then we can change the dosage or medicine. Apart from medicine, I suggest you take a healthy diet. Eat more fruits and vegetables. It helps to fight against diseases and makes the immune system strong. So a proper diet is needed and try to do regular exercises daily such as walking and some yoga. Please say whether you have any stress, about the sleeping hours, joints of pain, the dosage of Dubinor taken, and how many times. Please answer these questions so that I can help you to prescribe medicines accordingly.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Dubinor helps me a lot. It reduces pain and helps me to sleep better. When I skip it, I suffer from severe body pain, headache, and itching all over the body. I become very sick and I am not able to do any work. My doctor prescribed this medicine for two months at the beginning of this year. Due to the pandemic, I was not able to visit the doctor and so I am continuing the medicine for nine months now. I want to know whether it is good to take Dubinor. Can I have long term side effects due to it? If I take Dubinor, I sleep for six hours soundly. I am taking Dubinor, Pregabalin 75 mg, Nortriptyline 10 mg, Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg one tablet each at night after dinner. I am also taking Eritel CH 40 for blood pressure for the past two years. I had UTI last month and I did a blood and urine test. My HbA1c was 6.6 percent. But I am taking medicines for this problem. Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can take Dubinor (Pregabalin, Methylcobalamin, and Nortriptyline) for a long time. It will not cause any side effects. Long term usage can lead to symptoms such as acidity or gastritis. But so far, you do not have any abdominal symptoms. So do not worry. Please say about the medicine taken for UTI (urinary tract infection). Having an HbA1c (Hemoglobin A1c) level of 6.6 percent indicates a prediabetic condition. So it is better to control it. If you do not control it now, then there are increased chances for you to get diabetes in the future.

Patient's Query
