Hi doctor,
I am 34 years old. I have heartburn and pain in the center of the chest for the past one month. I have gas problems and acidity for many years. I have a lot of burping after taking food. I feel to have a lot of gas and I am not able to pass from the back. I have only burping now. I have done CBC, LFT, sugar, ESR, and ECG. All the results are normal. I was given Sucralfate syrup, Digene syrup, and Pantoprazole. I am taking this medicine for ten days. But I do not have any relief. Please suggest some tips and medicines for getting relief.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Probably, you have the symptoms of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). The medicines you are taking now can help you a lot. Pantoprazole is good to control acid reflux. It is good to wait for two weeks to see improvement. If you have any partial relief in your symptoms, it is good to continue with these medicines. If there is no relief, then you need to do some investigations. You need to increase the dose of Pantoprazole to 40 mg and take it twice daily for half an hour before taking meals. If there is no improvement, I can suggest you some investigations to confirm the diagnosis of GERD.
You can have responsive or refractory GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
