Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 25 year old unmarried female. Three years ago, suddenly I had lots of acne and my periods was little irregular. After some failed attempts with a skin specialist, I went to a gynecologist. He suggested me to take Krimson-35. My ultrasonography report was normal and no polycystic ovarian disease was diagnosed. After one year, my acne was completely gone. When I stopped taking Krimson-35, they came again. So, my doctor advised me to continue Krimson-35 and I am still having the medicine regularly.

My problem is that I have observed several times that if I masturbate (by clitoral stimulation) before a few days of periods and have an orgasm, then my period becomes very heavy and does not stop. When it happened for the first time, I told the doctor that my period is not stopping, but I did not tell him that I masturbated. He prescribed Trapic-500. Later it happened for a few more times also and I took Trapic-500 without asking the doctor. Sometimes, the next cycle also does not stop and I continue having Trapic-500. I used to masturbate at most three to four days a month and usually these are consecutive days. Please tell me whether this masturbation habit has done any harm to me. Are they harmful? And how long should I keep having Krimson-35 for my acne problem?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Masturbation has no relation to increased bleeding, but hormonal changes may be related to your masturbation on consecutive days. Your ultrasound is normal, so your excessive bleeding and acne may be due to hormonal problems. If you have not done any blood tests, then you should do blood Hb (hemoglobin), TC (total count), DC (differential count), platelet, BT (bleeding time), CT (clotting time), PT (prothrombin time), TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) and testosterone tests. You can take Krimson 35 for one year (Ethinyl estradiol). But, if the blood tests are abnormal, then other medicines will help you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

You said that I can take Krimson-35 for one year. Do you mean one more year or for only one year? I am already taking Krimson-35 for almost three years. Is that harmful to me? I have done Hb, TC, DC and platelet tests a year back. The results are Hb 13, TC - erythrocyte 4.5, leukocyte 8200, DC - neutrophils 68, lymphocytes 25, monocytes 2, eosinophils 5, basophils 0 and platelets 2.3.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The reports you sent are normal. Krimson 35 is like a contraceptive pill and can be taken for a few years. But, you are taking it for three years, so you should do the hormone and the other blood tests. You may change to another contraceptive pill, because after three years of use Krimson 35 may not be so effective, though not harmful.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
