Hello doctor,

I have a sleeping problem every night. I wake up without any reason. I cannot sleep. I would try to do anything to sleep, like moving on the balcony and taking deep breaths.

I would give a few suggestions,

  1. Get up early in the morning at about 4 or 5 AM daily.
  2. Take a mid-day nap after lunch at around 1 or 2 PM.
  3. Do not take coffee, caffeinated beverages, or tea three hours before sleep.
  4. Go to bed daily at the same time, around 9 PM.
  5. Manage stress by daily aerobic exercise.
  6. Maintain sleep hygiene by keeping the bed and room clean with free of noise. A mild fragrance will be good and helps you. Clean the bed before lying down, and sleep on your right side, placing your right hand under your right cheek.
  7. Do not use your mobile phone when you enter the bedroom.

These measures will be helpful in sleep. If you snore, then get checked up by an ENT doctor.
