Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 18-years-old, and the tip of my penis is itching for the past three days. It does not hurt, not red or swollen, but I could feel a leak while walking. Also, I have not been sexually active for about a month. Can you help?

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your symptoms are suggestive of mild infection of the urethra (urine tube). Sometimes, even the passage of a small stone in urine can create a minor internal injury at the urethral tip that causes irritation and itching. The best solution is to get a physical examination done by a urologist near you. A physical examination will confirm the diagnosis, and a urine microscopy test is also needed. Usually, for this infection, five to seven days of oral antibiotics and an antibiotics cream for application over the itching part is enough to cure the problem. Still, before starting medication, a physical examination is very important in your case.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The itching is not constant. I felt on and off itching this morning and a slight rise in the temperature of my urine. Also, just through the day, there is little wetness or creamy color drop without pain.

Kindly give your suggestion.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understood your problem, and accordingly above advice was given. It is your choice to use the ointment T-Bact (Mupirocin) for local application over urine meatus twice daily for five days before the physical examination. This ointment is only for a minor infection, so physical examination is essential for your diagnosis.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
