Hello doctor,
I feel lonely. I am not able to concentrate on my studies and I do not remember anything. My mother has also started ignoring me due to a family conflict. I feel depressed.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
It seems you have a major depressive disorder. There is non-pharmacological management for your depression. I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below.
1. You should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes.
2. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily.
3. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods, and avoid junk foods.
4. You must drink enough water.
5. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are living away from your family.
6. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills.
7. You should take enough seven to eight hours of sleep daily.
8. You must avoid tobacco or alcohol or any substance abuse.
9. Try to be bold and confident.
10. Do not study alone, and try to make your learning interesting. Take help from your teachers and friends.
I also suggest you do the following blood tests.
1. CBC (complete blood count).
2. Thyroid profile.
3. Vitamin B12.
4. Vitamin D3.
If you still have symptoms that persist after following the advice for four to six weeks, then I suggest you consult a psychiatrist.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
