Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 20 years old and struggling with my health right now. I went to doctor and he asked me to get certain tests. I have been vomiting since four months, but most of the time while travelling in the metro. Though I have been traveling through metro since many years, never faced such problem. The fluid that I throw up is clear like water. Two weeks ago, I had mild abdominal pain which roughly lasted for three days. I have lost my appetite and it is resulting in weight loss. I feel weak and tired most of the time. My hand and leg sometimes due to headache or abdominal pain get really cold. What could I probably be suffering from? What am I dealing with? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. It would be helpful to know where exactly your abdominal pain is located. If you upload a picture while pointing towards it will be very much helpful. Do you vomit up each time you have the abdominal pain or they can happen at two separate times as well? Do you have black stools or blood in the stools? Is there a complaint of diarrhea? Are there chances of pregnancy? Do you remember how bad your hemoglobin was? Do have issues with passing urine such as burning, too much urination, very bad smell or cloudy, etc.? Do you suffer from fever or chills? Is there any regular medication or painkiller use or alcohol intake? Please answer the above to the best of your knowledge because I want to help you in a better way. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Abdominal pain has happened just once like I said two weeks ago. It was near lower abdomen. Vomiting usually occurs while I am traveling in metro. I have seen blood in stools once or twice in last five months. Indigestion is a frequent problem though. There is no problem with urination. There is no chance of being pregnant. I have never consumed alcohol and do not use painkillers. Weakness and tiredness is a continuous problem. I feel dizzy sometimes. I have trouble to get sleep at night. I also have some weird urge to move my legs. They keep on getting restless whenever I try to rest.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. Thank you for the detailed answers. You are suffering from restless legs syndrome (RLS) in the night. It is a well known phenomena associated with iron deficiency anemia. Now the question is are you having iron deficiency anemia? It can also be the cause for weakness and dizziness. Do the tests; iron profile, CBC - complete blood count (if not done in the last three months), vitamin B12 and vitamin D, anti-endomysial antibodies, and ultrasound pelvis (if heavy periods present). Take Ferrous sulfate 325 mg three times a day, Vitamin B12 500 mg daily, Vitamin D 2000 IU once daily, and Omeprazole 20 mg one pill twice daily (30 minutes before the meal).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
