Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 19 years old. I have a white layer on my glans penis, and it is not removable. It has been there for three years, and it is not itching and painful. But now, I feel discomfort and penile glans discoloration. Please help me to sort out this problem.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I saw the picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

It does not look peelable, but it seems more like a color change (depigmented). If you have any history of sex, kindly share the details. Do you involve forceful masturbation? Since there is no pain or itching, it is unlikely to be bacterial or fungal. We can think of hormonal or viral infection (if there was any sex).

Please do the following investigations to find the cause.

1. T3, T4, TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone).

2. CBC (complete blood count). ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).

3. ANA (antinuclear antibodies).

4. RBS (random blood sugar).

I have shared medication (in case if it is simple infection), it will work.

The Probable causes

Autoimmune. Viral infection.

Investigations to be done

T3, T4, TSH. CBC. ESR. ANA. RBS.

Differential diagnosis

Autoimmune. Viral infection.

Probable diagnosis

Treatment plan

Preventive measures

Regarding follow up
