Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

A week back, I had sex with my wife using a condom. The condom appeared to be a bit dry and we had rough sex. After sex, when I was washing up with soap I felt some burning sensation in the inner foreskin. There were some cuts. Also, when I pulled back the skin, I felt pain in my frenulum. The frenulum is a bit hard and swollen. It is not healing even after a week's time. I cannot have sex or even masturbate as it hurts.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. The tissue in this region of your body is highly sensitive, and it should naturally heal over time. However, if there's an infection, the healing process might be prolonged. It's important to note that this isn't your fault, as the pubic area naturally contains many bacteria. To expedite healing, consider cleansing the area three times a day with a warm soak. Following this, apply an antibiotic ointment like Bacitracin after thoroughly cleaning and drying the area. This ointment will aid in healing and reduce the risk of infection. I recommend consulting your doctor, discussing the situation, and taking any recommended medication under their guidance. Patience is key, as healing will take time. For the next 10 days, it's advisable to refrain from sexual activity and masturbation.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Bacitracin ointment is not available. Is it fine to use Mupirocin ointment? Can you suggest some alternative ointment?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. Any antibacterial ointment will achieve the desired effect. I strongly advise you to consult your doctor for assistance and take any medication under their guidance and with their approval.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
