Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am not diabetic but I am experiencing frequent urination and high sugar level for a few months. I eat all the time and my blood pressure and heart rate are also high. I tried to increase my daily activities but I feel sleepy. I am taking the tablet Ramipril. The other day my sugar level was 154.95 mg/dL.

I also got CBC, kidney function, and urine tests done.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your concern in detail and I will surely help you out.

All your problems including frequent urination are due to high blood sugar levels, that is diabetes. Kindly share all your reports with me so that I can guide you in detail. As of now, what you can do at your part is start exercising, control your eating, eat healthy homemade food, stop all junk food, do regular walks, and exercise. Half an hour of exercise per day is more than enough.

Apart from this, you should start low-dose medications for sugar like the tablet Metformin 500 mg twice daily. This medication will help you in weight loss as well. The requirement to increase dose or increase medicines depends on two tests, HbA1c, and random blood sugars. These tests should be repeated every three months. The target for these tests is HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) less than 7 and random blood sugar <160 mg/dl. If these targets are achieved, all your symptoms will vanish so overall there is nothing to worry about.

We will together control your diabetes within a month with the right treatment. Please share your blood reports in order to assist you further.

Hope this helps.

Kindly revert back in case of further queries.

Thank you.
