Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Kindly see the laboratory reports of my wife. She is pregnant. Her age is 30 years. Our doctor has given certain medicines of vitamins, iron, etc.

Answered by Dr. Prathap

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

My hearty congratulations for becoming a father. The reports of your wife are all in their normal limits (attachment removed to protect patient identity) except for the iron studies, which is usually low in the pregnant women.

I suggest your wife Iron tablets daily from the fourth month. There is no need of vitamin tablets and put her on a nutritious diet. I also suggest Calcium tablet 500 mg daily after food. Consult your wife's doctor, discuss with him or her and take medicine with consent. There is no need to worry at all based on this laboratory parameters. Ask your wife to take more water and cranberry juice of 1.67 to 3.33 fl oz per day.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
