Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have got the test report from the laboratory today. I want to consult doctors from different fields on that basis to see where the problem is.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing, and I understand your concern.

I have gone through your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity), and everything looks fine except for vitamin D3 and vitamin B12 deficiency, and minor infection signs are present. Usually, when vitamin B12 is low, it leads to anemia. Anemia is a condition where iron and vitamin levels are disturbed, and in your case, you can see vitamin B12 deficiency and changes in iron levels.

We can prescribe medicine according to your symptoms only. So, can you please tell me what symptoms you are experiencing now. Kindly let me know if you have any signs of infection such as running nose, fever, or cough.

For now, I suggest you to take tablet Calcium and tablet vitamin B3 once daily in the evening. Syrup Dexorange (Vitamin B12, Folic acid and Iron) 5 ml once a day in the evening.

Take these medications for two weeks.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your response.

Let me put my concern in detail. I am a 27-year-old male with a height of 173 cm and a weight of 76.5 kg. I went for a full body checkup in the laboratory. Now, I need consultations with doctors to see where the problem is.

I have the following symptoms:

1) Tightness and dryness in throat, difficulty to swallow and burp may be due to GERD or some autoimmune disease, esophagus issue, etc.

2) Feeling like choking during exercise may be due to air irritation.

3) Degenerative skin changes may be due to autoimmune or connective tissue disease.

4) Occasionally, muscle and joint pain.

5) High blood pressure recently.

6) Mild pain near the lower end of ribs.

Other than this, no sign of infection such as running nose, fever, or cough. SpO2 level is 99. Please comment on other parts of the report, such as the increased LDL and liver function test value.

I bought capsule Mecofol-Plus (vitamin B12) and Uprise D3 (Vitamin D) today. Shall I take these medications?

Would you please answer in detail so I can understand?

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your quick response.

I suspected infection because there were changes in CBC (complete blood count) report such as elevated lymphocytes and RDW-SD (red cell distribution width - standard deviation). Other values such as liver enzymes and LDL (low-density lipoprotein) are slightly changed and do not indicate anything severe. These values can be corrected by diet such as avoiding oily and spicy food, taking more vitamin-C-containing food such as oranges, lemons, and exercising regularly.

Hence, after looking at your report, my primary concern was anemia and infection. But you do not have any sign of infection, so all the symptoms are associated with anemia only.

Yes, if you have capsule Mecofol-Plus (Alpha-lipoic acid, Folic acid, Pyridoxine) and tablet Uprise-D3 60k (Cholecalciferol), then use both of them. Changes will be seen atleast after a month. So, please continue taking medicine for a month and then repeat the test.

For gastric symptoms and throat irritation, I suggest you take tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once a day before meal for two weeks.

I would advise you to go for a short walk, quit drinking and smoking if you have the habit.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
