How to manage the stress and pressure at workplace?

Hello doctor,

I am 34 years old and have an 8-year-old boy. I just got promoted and I am not happy with it. I am unable to handle the stress and pressure of the new role. I do not wish to do any work not at work and at home. I do not wish to go to the office and just pray that I should get sick or have an accident. I do not wish to stay at home also. I do not wish to live. I think I have panic attacks in the morning like I am unable to breathe, feel really low, cannot sleep at night. And the thing is all other people who are working in my current position are doing it very well. Why am I not able to handle it? I have the option to take reversal but am really scared. What would other people, my friends, my relatives think? I feel like my mind is going to explode. Also, now we are planning to have a baby. I am really terrified.

Is it normal to feel less emotional towards family?

Hello doctor,

I am 19 years old female weighing 116 pounds and of height 6 feet 1 inches. I do not have any emotions except for smiling too much and sometimes feeling anger. I used to be a little violent. I do not feel love or sadness or guilt or jealousy. I do not miss my friends or my family while I stay far away for college. I do not feel anything when doctors say my mother might be suffering from cancer. While I was around 10, my grandfather passed away, and I said there is no need to cry as it is similar to a chicken dying. I do not feel shame or embarrassment. I sleep with my lights on and always with somebody in the room. As time is passing by, I am feeling that my humanity and empathy are disappearing. I feel there is no need for any relationship but I am not antisocial. Is this normal?

How to cope with past thoughts and feelings of solitude?

Hello doctor,

I am feeling alone in life. I came to work abroad and fortunately got a job at a clothes shop and running it for a year. But, I have not been able to save to help my family. I feel weak and no proper food I am eating. I do not want to deal with customers at the shop. My past breakup thoughts haunt me and I feel lonely here. I cannot go back home because I do not have any money to help my family. Sometimes, I think about committing suicide.

How to overcome sadness and repeated negative thoughts?

Hello doctor,

I am facing some ongoing mental health challenges and would appreciate your guidance. Throughout my life, I have experienced recurring negative thoughts and feelings of sadness, which I used to associate with a strange sensation in my chest during my childhood. At the age of 13, I started having panic attacks, but they subsided after a few months. However, when I turned 17, I developed serious health anxiety and was convinced that something was wrong with my heart, leading me to stop eating out of fear of allergies. I had numerous trips to the emergency room with a rapid heartbeat (180bpm), but all tests showed normal results.

Now, I am 19 years old, engaged to a wonderful partner, but I often feel like they might be cheating on me, even without any evidence. I also find myself repeatedly searching the internet for answers to the same questions, which gives me temporary relief, but the negative thoughts return soon after. This has affected my interest in activities and studies; I've lost motivation and cannot sleep well. As a result, my academic performance has suffered, despite being a bright student in the past.

I am hesitant to try medication, so I am wondering if there are any alternative approaches you can recommend to help me manage these repeated thoughts, feelings of sadness, and other related symptoms.

Thank you for your support.
