Hello, I received a photo today showing a 5-month-old baby’s feces containing small, worm-like structures. The infant is currently fed with Aptamil formula, minimal breastfeeding, and freshly prepared fruit and vegetable purees (not preserved). This is the first time I have encountered such a presentation. I advised discontinuing the formula milk pending further assessment. Thank you in advance.
Looks like Pin worms(Thread worm) infestation -- Enterobiasis, Get a stool test to confirm. Give Albendazole syrup. Need to treat whole family and caretaker at the same time. Advice to maintain a good hand hygiene.
You mentioned it as worm like structures but not exactly worms. Pinworms usually look white in color. The baby might have swallowed something. Scratch from toys or teethers
U NEED to go for stool test and culture and sensitivity test , stop baby formula , instead ask mother to breast feed , if that is not available or is less then u can ask motherr to give baby fresh cow milk - boiled and then cooled properly , after six months of age can start giving light food like mashed potatoes , for improving immunity u can consider - AYURVEDIC SUVARNA PRASHAN THERAPY . and kutaj syrup for deworming . for exact dosages of these ayurvedic medicines please ask or refer case
