Smile Correction in Severe Periodontitis Case (Dentistry)

Dr. Sravyadevarapalli., BDS

Medical Case Details:

A 22-year-old girl came to the clinic with severe tooth loosening and flared teeth. She wants her smile corrected despite severe bone loss and generalized periodontitis. We first made her oral prophylaxis, then went for a LANAP (Laser-assisted new attachment procedure), continued with the lower and upper splint, and placed a blue bite block. We advised her to take a three-month break before proceeding with braces placement. Additionally, we instructed her to avoid biting hard foods and maintain a soft diet until treatment begins.
