Hi, I am a urologist, 7 mm stone eswl was procedure of choice some 10 years ago, today it is not procedure of choice as you donot know whether stone is visible on floro or not neither you know exact location as eswl can be given only for uuper ureteric or stone near to VUJ. Chances that it will get pass of its own is 20-30 %. Its better you should refer this pat to a urologist who can take informed consent giving advantages and disadvantages of MET vs Surgery in this patient. Hope you find this information useful.
