Hello dear colleagues,
I want to share the case of one of my patients 6 years old, her vit D was 14.5 and total calcium of 8.4 .
In collaboration with her pediatrician, recommendations were 200 ui injection of vitamin D and calcium gluconate 500 mg 2x1/2 .
I was afraid of the dose and combination and all recommended by her pediatrician. What is you opinion?
Thank you in advance.
Hello doctor ..in this situation I usually give vitamin D slow correction of 6 lac IU slowly over 6 months alongwith Calcium syrup and calcium rich diet and good sunlight exposure of 30-45 minutes daily..u can recheck the vitamin D level at 6 months to plan for a second correction if required
