Schizophrenia not seem to be improving

I have a patient who has been abusing cannabis for many years before developing schizophrenia. He has been treated by psychiatrists and rehabilate severally but does not seem to improve what other help can be given to him

Hello.. I think first there is need to stop patient 's cannabis abuse. once patient is off cannabis.. it would be easier to manage him.. his treatment history need to be studied.. if he had been given trial of 2 antipsychotics one of them must be olanzapine,then we can consider clozapine ..

Cannabis abuse and Schizophrenia do have a bidirectional association and often it becomes difficult to manage such patients. Give a trial of Trifluoperazine. It is seen to be effective in such cases.
