Left Anterior Descending Artery

The left anterior descending artery or anterior interventricular artery emerges from the left coronary artery and runs along the front of the heart between the left and right ventricles. It supplies blood to the front and left ventricular walls, the interventricular septum (the wall separating the two ventricles), and the apex of the heart. A block in the artery can decrease blood flow to the heart and lead to cardiovascular problems.
