Phocomelia

Phocomelia is a birth defect that can be caused genetically by families with an autosomal recessive trait or by the intake of drugs during pregnancy known as Thalidomide. Symptoms of phocomelia include deformation of the limbs, and defects of the eyes, nose, and ears may also be present. Growth and mental deficits are also usually seen in people with phocomelia.
