About "Breast Cancer"

A lump in the breast, change in the shape of the breast, dimpling on the skin, discharge from the nipple, and a red patch on the surface of the breast can all be signs of breast cancer. The two types of breast cancer are:

  • Ductal carcinoma – Most prevalent type and originates in the milk duct.
  • Lobular carcinoma – Originates in the lobules.

Most lumps in the breast are noncancerous, but you need to get them checked out by a doctor. The risk factors for developing this cancer are genetics, obesity, alcohol consumption, radiation exposure, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), birth control pills, and a history of breast lumps.
