Low Serum Uric Acid levels (Orthopedician and Traumatology)

Dr. Sharoff Lokesh Mohan., MBBS, DORTHO, DNB ORTHOPEDICS

Medical Case Details:

A 26 year old female had knee and ankle joint pain. I did all the basic tests including Serum Uric Acid and found out that the serum uric acid level was lower than normal.

Is there any sign or symptom of low serum uric acid or should it be treated?

I have never bothered thinking about it!!

Hello Sir. I just read your case. Sometimes in vegetarian people hypouricemia can be present due to low purine content. It can be due to some underlying pathology too. So you have to rule out that,if it is due to some underlying disease then treat that cause.
