Common "Blind Spot" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Blind Spot

The blind spot is a small portion of the eye's visual field where the optic nerve exits out of the eye through the optic disc. It does not contain photoreceptors; therefore, light falling at a blind spot does not form any image. Edme Mariotte first observed it in 1660.
