Furunculosis

Hair follicle infection primarily due to Staphylococcus aureus can result in pus-filled skin lesions termed furunculosis or boils. Obesity, weak immune system, existing skin condition, poor nutrition, etc., increases the risk of developing boils. These boils are painful and occur in friction-prone sweaty areas like armpits, buttock, groin, and neck. Antibiotic ointment, warm compress, and antibacterial soap are beneficial.
