When the nerves in the tooth's pulp get damaged due to injury, they stop the blood supply to the teeth, resulting in infection and the death of the nerve. The tooth which undergo this process is known as a non-vital tooth. It is often caused due to tooth decay and injury. It is managed by doing a root canal to protect the tooth. When it is severely damaged, then it is managed by extraction. If pain occurs, it is reduced by taking medication.
