Common "Nsip" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Nsip

NSIP stands for nonspecific interstitial pneumonia. It is an inflammatory disease of the lungs. In an affected individual, the tiny air sacs inside the lungs called alveoli and the outer covering of the lung known as pleura might get inflamed. It occurs as a reaction to certain drugs, or spontaneously in those who are suffering from diseases like human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) syndrome. With NSIP, the inflammation leaves the lung tissues scarred and nonfunctional.
