The talus bone is a bone of the lower part of the ankle joint. The bone and cartilage associated with the talus may get inflamed when somebody undergoes severe sprain of the ankles or traumatic injuries. Also, when the ankle joint is unstable or not aligned normally, one may be prone to osteochondritis lesions of the talus (OLT). It can be either symptomless or painful, depending on the type of injury.
